Use a repeatable pre-action checklist

Verify on-chain state
After submitting an action, use the appropriate block explorer to inspect the transaction hash, block height, execution status and confirmations. Networks can differ in fee markets, confirmation speed and finality. If an asset does not appear, first verify the transaction on the correct network and then check the token contract and display settings rather than sending the transaction again.
Recognize common risks
Seed phrases and private keys provide wallet control and should never be entered into an unfamiliar website or sent to someone claiming to be support. Third-party DApps and smart contracts can contain bugs, malicious logic or excessive permissions. Public Wi-Fi, shared computers, remote-control tools and clipboard tampering can also increase exposure.
